Ukrainian Blockchain Enthusiasts From e-Vox Win the EGAP Challenge
Blockchain e-voting service e-Vox: NaRada became one of the winners of the first competition of e-democracy projects EGAP Challenge, organized by the State Agency of e-Government of Ukraine.
The project received a cash prize of UAH 50,000 and was awarded a Swiss state fund grant for the development.
Presentation of the winning teams and the awards ceremony took place on September 16 at the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The e-Vox team is about to launch a pilot version of the electronic voting service e-Vox: NaRada for the municipality of Balta (Odessa region). As ForkLog reported earlier, the agreement with Balta local authorities was signed in August.
e-Vox plans also include creation of a non-profit organization (foundation), which will support the project’s development. The project’s source code will be made available to anyone interested.
The signing of a memorandum on the establishment of E-vox, an electronic voting system based on the Ethereum blockchain, took place in February 2016 in Kyiv. A system is planned to be utilized for voting at any level – from elections of local municipal councils to the election of parliamentary representatives.
