Lukoil Gas Stations in Baltic States Now Accept Bitcoin

According to a blog post by SpectroCoin, Lukoil’s gas stations in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia now accept Bitcoin. Apart from Lukoil network, one may use bitcoins at a Lithuanian cab service, 12 restaurants (one of which being in Spain, and the other one in Poland), and four online stores.

The SpectroCoin’s statement says:

“SpectroCoin.comisproud to announce that we have integrated WoraPay network into our Android, iOS and Windows Phone mobile wallets. So from now you can pay with bitcoins in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.”

Cryptocurrencies are quite popular in the Baltic states. According to Estonian Cryptocurrency Associations, there are more than 10,000 Bitcoin users in Estonia alone. Paying with bitcoins at a bar or some online store is quite common practice in that country.

SpectroCoin is a London-registered Bitcoin company working primarily on Baltic market. The company’s major activity is dedicated to creation of virtual wallets, cryptocurrency exchange, and integration of payment solutions for mundane usage of Bitcoin.

WoraPay is a platform intended for organization and performance of mobile payments for retailers on a global scale using the most popular payment tools. The company was named among the hottest European business models at FinTech50 in 2015. SWIFT included WoraPay in Top 60 of companies to participate in Startup Challenge 2015.
