FriGate Now Supports Emercoin Domain Zones
Browser extension FriGate which finds bypasses to access blocked websites is now capable of opening websites located in Emercoin domain zone.
FriGate checks whether the site is accessible, and, if not, activates proxy. Accessibility is checked not for every site but only for those included in user-created lists.
The plugin’s latest update includes support for domains .onion, .lib, .emc, .bazar, and .coin.
Emercoin’s decentralized DNS network was launched in November 2014. The team explained the launch by the fact that in centralized DNS networks it’s providers, not owners, that handle all records.
Therefore, they can cut access to such records upon a request from authorities.
Currently Emercoin network has the following zones operational: .coin (everything related to coins and commerce); .emc (resources on Emercoin projects); .lib (derivative from liberty or library); .bazar (various sell/buy services).
Last November one of the biggest adult torrent trackers in the Post-Soviet space, Pornolab, announced launch of a mirror site in Emercoin’s domain zone.
